The Living Legacy - Buster Sword 3 by vvmasterdrfan The Living Legacy - Buster Sword 3 by vvmasterdrfan
The Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Buster Sword

More pictures! :la: I had the honor of crafting this sword once again :giggle: The last sword received so much feedback (My first DD :la:) that I was glad to accept another one to improve my craft.

I decided to take some artistic detail shots because I've been lacking in the art department lately. Hopefully this satisfies that somewhat >_>

To keep the weight down to 6-7 lbs, the blade is made from Mat board layers.
The internal structure is very solid and allows for the sword's weight to transfer efficiently to the handle. The hilt base and handle are hand carved wood. The blade edge is wrapped in a sheet metal film while the handle is stained faux leather.

More of my work:

With my sculptures, I strive to obtain 100% accuracy in every possible way. I attempt to go beyond by selecting premium unique color choices and even enhancing details to my own designs. Out of love to the Square Enix family, it is my honor to craft such elite weaponry not only for my personal admiration, but for my fellow cosplayers, prop makers, friends, and fans. I would be nothing without my friends and fans. The intense hard work, sweat, blood, and tears that I put into making these is worth it. I hope that one day my talents and artwork may be recognized highly by others. Thank you.

I'm starting to think you've gotten these things down to a precise science/artform. Do I see a gun metal finish on the "blunt" half of the blade? As always it is mind blowing to see your work. Now if only these puppies could make it into a Video game museum that would be amazing, maybe a few hundred letters to square would help!

And thanks! You're the first to notice the avatar. I still have to get a pic of the star seeker and i dont really like the paint job on the oathkeeper so i gotta redo it before i add it in th gif.

One more thing. Did you use a router or the dremel to carve the lines in the sword? I dont really like using routers cause i cant see what i'm carving very well

The lines in the sword were cut by hand using a blade. The material is a thin and light board in order to meet the requirements of the sword being under 7 lbs.

So like a utility knife type blade? I guess you had cut through a layer of the board which is why it came out clean, right?

An Olfa blade to be exact. I'm an architect major so crafting paper models with precision is what we do best.

As much as I usually rave about your craftsmanship (which is fabulous btw), I gotta say that I love this photo! It really makes the sword look lovely! The blade just absolutely GLEAMS!

And once again, it was very nice to see you at AWA and to be able to chat with you!
