Oblivion - Two Across1 -------- Oathkeeper--------- Bond of Flame-------- With my Keyblades, I strive to obtain 100% accuracy in every possible way. I attempt to go beyond by selecting premium unique color choices and even enhancing details to my own designs. Out of love to the Kingdom Hearts series, it is my honor to craft such elite weaponry not only for my personal admiration, but for my fellow cosplayers, prop makers, friends, and fans. I would be nothing without my friends and fans. The intense hard work, sweat, blood, and tears that I put into making these is worth it. I hope that one day my talents and artwork may be recognized highly by others. Thank you.
I have recently just gotten into woodworking myself, and I have to say that this is very very well put together. This tutorial is easy to read, explains instructions well, and has lots of detailed pictures to let you see things visually. The one problem I think needs to be fixed is that the keyblades you make turn out very rough looking. A good sanding and finish would easily fix this, and make the keyblades look like metal when painted. One thing I've learned in wood working is that even if sanding takes you a long time, it is always worth it in the end. But other than that, beautiful work, and wonderful tutorial!
This is by far the BEST tutorial i have seen on DA. I am really impressed with the way you work with the wood and i like how detailed these are. If i had to complain about something though, it would be that the handle seems like it would be hard to hold since it has the guard-peices on both sides, whereas a sword usually has only one.(i am assuming that is what they are). Other than that I really like it. I love how origional it is, and I have never seen anyone else on DA doing things like this with any kind of wood. Keep up the good work.
ok i have somewhat of a concern...... im wanting to make riku's way of the dawn keyblade for a cosplay but i kinda have larger hands. If i put peices of wood on the sides would it make the handle look weird? cause im making this cosplay legit. i have a friend even sewing together the outfit ^^
If you have any suggestions i would love to hear them ..... awesome tutorial btw i love it
Thanks man. I can assure you that your large hands will not be an issue, as I have fairly large hands as well. You just have to be precise and steady with your hands. I'm not sure what you mean by putting wood on the side. But i dont see how having large hands would prohibit you from following the tutorial.

wow, thank you for making this, its really helpful.. and the keyblades themselves are just stunning o.0 A couple of friends and I are planning to make a couple keyblades for ourselves using the our school's tools and spare materials (we have to pay for some, of course ). A teacher has agreed to let us in at lunch and help us with the making of them. But I really really really really want to make an a super realistic Oblivion, and this tutorial is extremely helpful, thank you I just hope my teacher doesn't implode with the prospect of helping making a prop with as much detail as I want there to be lol

"I'm not dreaming this, am I?" Kylar asked. "There's only one way to find out" Durzo said. "Go piss in the woods. If you start to feel warm and wet, its time to wake up."
OMG, thank you so much for putting this up. I've always wanted a Kingdom Key. I think I'm going to try thanks to you.

"You gotta figure. Everything starts someplace. The closest thing for me is when I was just seven days old, and i met her." Roxas and Xion 4ever. ^^
The tutorial is helpful even though I don't plan on making a Keyblade, but I do plan on making weapons out of wood myself and someday in the future, out of metal and the tools, wood and pant that you used is easy to acquire and simple. So thank you
Also the way that for Keyblades are made is amazing. You make it seem simple when it doesn't seem simple and the out come is stunning. I like the fact that you don't sand them off after you've completed it as it gives off a used vibe, as if it's been used in battle.
Thanks I am pleased to hear that you found it useful. If your prop is thicker than a keyblade, do'nt be afraid to carve it in layers and then glue the wood layers together instead of cutting out a giant piece of wood.
haha yea. This is when i was new to keyblade making so i didnt really sand as much. But now i do haha. I realized that sanding is very inportant. It can be difficult to sand a keyblade because of all the carvings. but it can be done with gentle sandpaper.
I desperately need to update this tutorial because i left out that >_> And to fix all the spelling errors. thanks again
